- New Tyne - Worthing
New Tyne is a home for people who have been diagnosed with dementia. The team here will do all they can to ensure people feel comfortable and safe, and will work with individuals to promote their independence and maintain their skills where they are able to.
We embrace the ethos of being an open and inclusive home. Where we are able to do so we seek the views and ideas of those living here when making decisions and plans. We encourage family and friends to visit regularly and share in their loved ones' lives where possible. This might include sharing time in our communal lounges or quieter spaces, or if the weather is good, sitting in the garden.
We also enjoy themed parties and events to mark special occasions and welcome people to these. We support and encourage people to access their local community if they wish to – there are good public transport links, and we also have an accessible vehicle available.
New Tyne is a single level building, and we have 15 long stay bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Some of our rooms have some adaptations to support people with physical needs including hoisting. We have accessible bathrooms with showers and spa bath facilities.
We also offer four short stay beds for people to come in for a break away from their families.
