West Sussex Wellbeing is provided by the County Council in partnership with the seven district and borough councils. It offers individual and group-based support and advice to anyone aged 18 years and over who lives and/or works in West Sussex on making changes to improve their health and wellbeing. This includes support to stop smoking, becoming active in order to reduce the risk of having a fall, manage weight, eat a healthy diet together with information about getting an NHS health check.
In 2022-23 8,040 people accessed the wellbeing programme for support (an increase of 19% from 2021-22). 40 to 54 year olds were the highest users of the service (26%) with more women than men seeking help (65%).
