The young person must have a separate financial assessment to determine if they will need to contribute towards the cost of their care and support.
The financial assessment is conducted by one of the county council's Welfare Benefits Advisors.
This takes place because social care services are not free to everyone.
If services are provided by the named educational establishment as set out under Section I of the Education, Health and Care
Plan (EHCP) for educational purposes then the service is provided free of charge.
More information about charging can be found in the ‘Money’ section of WSCC Adult Social Services publications.
