Self-advocacy groups

Throughout the county, self-advocacy groups meet regularly to talk about the things that are important to them, make friends and work together to make positive changes.

SENDIAS – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service

This service provides impartial information, advice and support to parents and carers of children/young people who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Sibs

 

Sibs supports people who grow up with or have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. Sibs provides information, support and training for adult siblings, young siblings, parents and professionals.

YoungSibs is for children and young people who have a brother or sister who is disabled, has special educational needs or a serious long-term condition. It is for siblings in the UK who are under 18 years of age.

 

Signposts (Mid Sussex)

Signposts Mid Sussex is a charity offering information and advice, activities, a drop-in service, outings, courses, help with finding a job, counselling and help for carers. Signposts provides the My Network services in Mid Sussex. Signposts also promotes the Thumbs Up! campaign.

Supported Employment West Sussex

Supported Employment West Sussex provides support to paid employment for individuals with lifelong disabilities, physical and sensory needs, acquired brain injury and those who are carers.

Sussex Oakleaf

Free support for people with mental health needs, those with a personality disorder and individuals at risk of homelessness.

Sussex Oakleaf Be Ok offer support for people aged 16 – 25 years. They also have online support.
