Strawford Day Opportunity Hub provides person-centred support for individuals over the age of 18 with a variety of care and support needs. The service empowers people to live the life they want to lead. Encouraging people to make decisions and develop personal SMART (specific, measurable, realistic, time-bound) goals.
Individuals may attend the hub on a time- limited programme designed to promote independence, enhance daily living skills, and support the development of new interests and hobbies. Attendance may also be sought on an ongoing basis to help maintain independence, reduce isolation and loneliness, provide respite for parents/carers, and enable learning of new skills within a safe and supportive environment.
The building is fully level access and is set within large, accessible grounds, including extensive gardens that support a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. These gardens provide opportunities for individuals to engage in gardening, nature based learning, and growing flowers and vegetables for both use in sessions and for events, ensuring that all individuals can participate fully and comfortably.
The service offers a diverse programme of sessions and activities that promote independence, wellbeing, and personal development, including:
- Connecting with local community networks.
- Cooking for enjoyment and independence, including planning and preparing meals using a variety of individual chosen recipes.
