Judith Adams Centre - Chichester

A collage of three pictures: a group of people with Pudsey bear, two people smiling for the camera, and two people going out on a shopping trip.

Judith Adams Centre is set in the heart of Chichester and provides person-centred support for people over the age of 18 with a variety of care and support needs.

The centre is modern, light, and airy and is split over two floors, with most activities run on the ground floor. There is a computer suite and a day room on the first floor which can be accessed via a lift. There is an outside area where outdoor sessional work takes place, and secluded courtyard gardens to get fresh air and do a bit of gardening.

The day opportunity site has a range of facilities and areas to support activities, including:

  • Accessible training kitchen
  • Sensory suite
  • Art and craft
  • Music, dance, fitness
  • Computer suite
  • Cook and eat

Our focus is to promote people’s independence, inclusion, creativity, friendships, as well as their physical and mental wellbeing. People are frequently asked for their ideas and are included in activity planning.

The centre has easy access to the shops, cafes, art galleries, theatre, parks and gardens.  We have good transport links which we use to support people to gain the skills to travel independently. We also have an accessible minibus for day trips.

We are fully involved with local activities and events including Pride month, Learning Disability Week, Black History Month, and Dementia Awareness Week.

We access many community groups in the town for performing arts, arts and craft, cinema and meet up groups. We also have regular open afternoons to celebrate various dates in our calendar to welcome local people into the centre.
