- Glebelands - Shoreham-by-Sea
Glebelands is a day opportunity service providing person-centred support for people over the age of 18 with a variety of care and support needs. We support people to achieve their personal aims and goals and provide a wide range of activities to help maintain and develop daily living skills.
Glebelands day opportunity service is all on the ground floor with the outside area having accessible pathways, raised beds for gardening, a gazebo, and seating areas.
Glebelands has a range of facilities and areas to support activities, including:
- Building friendships and local community networks with people who attend.
- Accessible training kitchen for “Cooking for Fun”, using a range of recipes chosen by the people who take part.
- Sensory/relaxation room “Relax and Pamper” and “Relaxing Music”.
- Pottery studio, which has its own kiln.
- Art and crafts room.
- Gardening rooms and greenhouse – a very popular and interactive session with indoor and outdoor growing areas, currently growing vegetables and flowers.
- Computer suite for “Brain Training” and “Photography” groups, where pictures can be taken and then processed using technology available.
- Games and mobility area for “Active Games”, “Gentle Exercise to Music” and “Table Games”.
- An accessible lounge for “Relaxation”, “Music” and occasional “Karaoke”.
- A range of outdoor spaces for activities, a quiet shady spot to sit with a chosen task, or just a space to relax and enjoy the weather.
We are working to develop our community presence and hope to offer many more opportunities to interact locally in the future.
