Definitions and terms used in this document

• Customers: Individuals in receipt of West Sussex County Council funded care and support .
• Accommodation based support: All care and support services where the provision of accommodation is an integral part of the care and support package, includes nursing and residential care and supported living services.
• Residential and nursing care services: CQC registered nursing and residential care services.
• Supported Living services: A care and support package which is linked to accommodation but where the individual has a tenancy and housing support offer which is separated from care offered. Care is provided to each individual within their tenancy although there may be some shared support offered across a group of tenants. Care services may or may not be CQC registered depending on whether there is any provision of personal care.
• Outreach: Care and support provided to people with mental health needs in their own home, without their accommodation linked to the care and support package they are receiving. Services may or may not be CQC registered depending on whether there is any provision of personal care.
• Supported housing services: Housing provision with some linked housing support but not with any integral care support.
• General needs housing: Housing provision without any integral or linked care and support.
• Early help and prevention support: Community services which help people with mental health needs to stay healthy and well in their communities and minimise or prevent the need for funded care support.
