The Community hub

First established in March 2020 as a COVID-19 response team, the Community Hub continues to provide vital support to residents, acting as a contact point for information, advice, guidance, signposting and practical support for a wide range of issues.

Since its launch, the Hub has managed over 1 million contacts and continues to provide support to households, delivering on Government commitments including the Household Support Fund* and the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.

During 2023- 2024, the Community Hub has:

• supported over 12,500 individual requests for financial support under the Household Support Fund 4, working with district and borough council colleagues and trusted partners to reduce the risk of dependency by helping residents access longer-term, sustainable support.
• provided access to support for guests and hosts participating in the Homes for Ukraine Scheme

The  Community Hub is available for residents 365 days a year on 033 022 27980 or by emailing: communities@westsussex.gov.uk. Lines are open from 9.00am to 5.00pm seven days a week (10.00am to 2.00pm on bank holidays).
